Why I Created This Site

I love Mormons!

You may think to yourself, how can you say you love Mormons when this site is anti-mormon and goes against everything Mormonism teaches? That is a good question, and the answer again is that I love Mormons.

Although I love Mormons, I'm deeply concerned about the doctrine that Joseph Smith and the other Prophets and leaders have taught. My concern is that the LDS people have been lead to believe a false gospel, and this false Gospel has created spiritual blindness to the truth about God.

I desire that you understand the love of our Savior who died for all your sins, past, present and future. That you understand that trusting in Christ alone for your Eternal Life with God, you are adopted into the family of God. There is nothing else you can do to please God. It is not possible to sin your way out of the grace God has provided which gives you eternal life in the presence of our Heavenly Father. Your eternal salvation has been secured once and for all by the sacrifice of Christ on the Cross at Calvary.

As a former Mormon, I understand the LDS Church and its belief system. I understand the teachings and the emotional dilemma an LDS person faces when they even question anything about the Church. But my admonition to you is that you should not fear a Church but fear God!

The ONLY way to live with Heavenly Father when you die is through Christ alone. If you are attempting to establish your own righteousness to merit exaltation, you will fail. It is impossible to please God through your own works, efforts, obedience to laws and ordinances or sacred covenants. The only way to please God is to trust in Christ alone. If you try to please God through any other method, you will be eternally separated from the presence of our Heavenly Father for all eternity.

LDS Testimony

I was born into an LDS home as the oldest male child, with one older sister. Prior to my being born, my parents were active in the Church, but were not married in the Temple. One of my earliest memories in life is at the age of 3 when I was sealed to my parents in the Salt Lake Temple.

From my earliest of days I attended the LDS Church with my family. I remember going to primary and learning the different songs, Jesus wants me for a Sun Beam, Jesus once was a little child, I hope they call me on a mission, etc.

At the age of 8 I was baptized and confirmed into the LDS church. I was a Cub Scout, with my Mom acting as Den Mother, I was a Weblos and later became a Boy Scout and earned my Eagle Scout. At 12 I became a member of the Aaronic Priesthood, and progressed from Deacon to Teacher to Priest.

I attended all four years of Seminary during High School and graduated. During my youth I attended the Temple regularly going on Youth Temple Trips to do Baptisms for the dead. In addition I was a home teacher and had several other church callings.

I had several non-LDS friends who I encouraged to take the missionary lessons and subsequently joined the LDS church. As an adolescent I typically attended the Saturday Night Church Dances and only dated seriously LDS girls.

From as far back as I can remember, I always believed that Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God, that the Book of Mormon was God's inspired Scripture given to the people in the Americas and that all other Churches were wrong.

I believed that other churches had a form of godliness but lacked the fullness of the gospel. The essentials that were on the Earth at the time of Christ, had been lost (i.e. the Priesthood, a living Prophet and the Fullness of Gospel) and were restored by Joseph Smith.

Despite all of these beliefs, my faith was not strong enough to remain LDS when I became an adult. My conversion story provides the details as to why I left the LDS Church.

Impending Judgment

God's tells us in 2 Corinthians 5:10 that "we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad".

1 Peter 3:15-16 the Bible says, "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ."
